For some reason, this was re-released at our local art-house theater.
Might have been reshowing because your local art-house is about to show this, which is by the same writer/director:

and is well worth a watch. It will **** with your head.

The Battery. It's like Primer and Night of the Living Dead had a love child.

    This:

A haunting performance by Paddy Considine, raw and chilling in its humanity exposed.

    Also:

not what it seems - great performance and plot with some seriously fucked up moments. Loved it.

I didn't understand Primer the first watch, probably cause I was home with a stomach flu.

    A Prophet (2009)

This was my introduction to Art movies after a long hiatus from movie theaters. I go regularly now when I never did before.

This starts off like a weird little movie. Basically, it is the evolution of a small time hood. He ends up doing drug deals, running and org and ending up right back in prison. Give it a chance because it starts like a typical gangster movie, but that add some elements that make it completely different than normal.

    Oh I remember this.

First half was really good. Around second half, I started liking it less to the point of slight irritation near the end.

    Cause
    Spoiler:
he turned into Commando/Kasparov, basically killed any realism the protagonist had.

It's a good movie. Not a great one.
