    Having watched it now, I would still say it's empowerment, just not so recognizable as what one might see in North America.

    Feminism in a post-Soviet, heavily Christian Orthodox society, with certain already-entrenched ideas (espoused by the women, apparently) about the relationships between men and women ... what they're doing is pretty revolutionary in that environment.

    It does seem to be very relative- espousing a "separate but equal" gender perspective is progressive when the norm is "separate and unequal".

    Though I guess that this thread is better satire than the onion video. Hot woman with weapons are soo cuute, lets forget they are part of an fascist movement! Looks like some people here have watched the video about the Asgard woman without sound, without reading subtitles and with one hand under the desk.
