This, in a nutshell, is exactly why aikido sucks.

    ....

Also, is the resemblance to Steven Seagal deliberate?

Edit: Hah! Great minds think alike clearly.

Therefore, as a black belt trained in one of these arts, you will have more responsibility over your actions. You may be held criminally liable for reactions that you make, that a non-martial art trained person would not be convicted of.

This is inaccurate. You're actions are either justified, reasonable and appropriate or they are not. The actions of a "trained martial artist" are weighed against the same standard as anyone else.

This is my Judo/BJJ instructor going up against an aikidoka in a friendly randori.

I assure you, Mark is going at 40-50% in this roll, tops. They could've rolled for hours and the aikidoka never would've even come close to getting him to the ground.

And yes, I have trained with many aikido guys and have trained in aiki-jujitsu myself. Aikido has some good concepts, but they only become applicable when you mix them with other, more realistic, arts.
I've seen this clip so many times and always wondered who they were!

The aikido guy seems completely lost 'why is he not running at me full speed with his hand raised in Karate chop motion or both arms raised like a zombie? He's not even trying to grab my wrist!' lol

I especially like the part at 1min where the aikidoka is like 'grab me and watch this sweet move' then does a twirl.

As an attorney licensed in both Canada and the United States, I guarantee you that my statement is indeed very accurate.

And by the way, it's "your actions" not "you're actions." You can't even tell the difference between "you're" and "your" yet you are pretending to understand the ramifications of criminal assault.

For example: if you make a mistake as a lawyer, your actions will not be judged against other reasonable people but against other reasonable lawyers. I can't see how English law would be any different, but I am not licensed there so I cannot comment on that.

So if there are 180 posts and numerous other threads that cover this topic, then a few more won't hurt anyone now will it :)

Thank you for contributing nothing of value, though it really doesn't come as a surprise.

I fail to see how one youtube video proves that an entire martial art sucks. Oh well whatever continue on with your anti-aikido thread.
