    You can ask. It is not optimal if you want to make sure that the ordering does not influence the result. While I doubt the difference would be significant, it can make sense to rule this influence out when possible. Humans are very complicated and even minor things can influence your results. Even minor stuff like changing the background color could possibly influence the result. For example it is known that the order in which question are asked can have an significant impact on the results.

    was happy to see "independence" on there...just out of interest did you mean that as "self reliant" or "capable of breaking the rules"?

    Ah... it's along the lines of self-reliant and self-sufficient; maybe "breaking the rules" would fall under Courageous (bold, daring) or Imaginative (creative, innovative)?

    There's a great book called "Thinking, Fast and Slow" which is an entertaining overview of the theories on how we make decisions and what influences them.

    You left out "naginata" from the dropdown, and the only "other" is "mixed/non-Japanese," which my style is not.
