    Mud Runs

    Bit of a thread necro.

I've dug out quite an interesting article from a year or so ago about mud/obstacle running and it's growth in popularity from BBC News.

    http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/magazine-16548236

It's an interesting article but what I find REALLY interesting is the comments posted.

There are quite a lot of (amusing) derogatory posts from people who I assume to be best described as "salad dodgers".

I've been doing a lot of races, both sprint and distance nowadays. 5Ks are pretty cheap and are always being held somewhere nearby.

Today I did the Zombie Mud Run again, but this time I tried to bear crawl/crab walk it. HIGHLY recommend you do this without gloves, because gloves are for pussies.

Did a mud run barefoot last week on a course that had to have been 80% gravel. Now I have Hobbit feet.

Pulled two small ticks off my balls this morning as well (For real this time), AND got a letter from the urologist telling me what date I need to be sedated so he can stick a fiber-optic tube up mu urethra.

    Any hotties DTF?

The Insane Inflatable 5K I did yesterday was almost comedically difficult considering the caliber of athlete that signed up for the event. Three miles in the sand during a late Summer heat wave. About a quarter of the way through, I looked back and realized I was the only one in my wave who was actually running the course (At least passed the first 100 feet). When I saw them coming back the other way, everyone looked miserable just walking.

I made a little kid go flying on one of the bouncy obstacles. He was climbing over one end when I jumped down and sent him into the air. He thought it was awesome.
