Yes that's precisely why it translates to "Supreme Ultimate Fist".

There is much joy to be found between MMA and Tai Chi. All it takes is pressure, and time.

Two years and you still resort to this excuse when you say something stupid.

Yes, this is me saying, your 2 years of stupidity outweighs and corrupts your jokes.

That was also a joke, good grief. It was a troll hook to see what I would catch from Der, but wow the bait must have been better than I thought.....or worse depending on how you look at it.

This is GENERALLY true, isn't it? Slow movements, breathing exercises, oriental grannies in a park, some push hands. That's pretty much the general conception of Tai Chi, yes?

My post is not a joke.

See, IF you want serious funny in a Tai Chi Chuan thread but don't want it to suck, you invoke the amazing Ian Sinclair of Canada, the man in the video above using combat tai chi principles against a resisting partner at an MMA convention, all while talking in that friendly Canuck style that is bound to bridge the diplomatic gap between the ancient Supreme Ultimate Boxing and modern MMA.

He is also an admin at taichicentral.com one of the last few outposts of pressure-tested "internal" MA.

The man can launch objects in the air using only his dan tian and the energy of the universe.

    Whence cometh Tai chi?

Well as my uncle once said when I asked him where babies come from:

    "China, mostly".

Very nice video, much beauty and intelligence in the narration. Thanks for posting this, it definitely made my evening.

Can anybody explain to me how the instructor does the stuff with the stick (5:18-5:32)?
