    The fool thinks himself immortal,
    If he hold back from battle;
    But old age will grant him no truce,
    Even if spears spare him.

    I'm surprised the attacker didn't try to call him a jive turkey.

    Years ago I saw a guy on TV advise that you keep 5 one dollar bills folded over in a cheap money clip, and keep your real money in your wallet (or wherever else). In the event of an attempted mugging you take out the money clip and throw it in one direction, while running and screaming in the other. To this day I think that is the best advise I've ever heard about how to handle a situation like that. I start every day with my money in my wallet, and I always put change in my right front pocket. That way I can toss a handful of ones and run screaming with my big bills still in my wallet while the guy scrambles to grab singles off the ground.

    Or ask him "What's hip, daddy-o?"

Someone who stabs non-assholes is likely to be an ex con and may know a thing or two about stabbing a guy (although they're probably not a trained assassin going after Steve from Human Resources). I don't see the need for too technical a breakdown of why a kick to the hand is very unlikely to work.
    When I trained with Sgt. John Riddle two weeks ago, he did a discussion of common knife attacks and their results that he saw during his time as a police officer and how that affected his training. While he acknowledged that someone most likely to kill you with a knife would attack with rapid fire thrusts to the midline from close range, he said this was not the most common attack he saw. The most common knife attacks were not assassinations but where attacks involving forehand and backhand slashes, often resulting in traumatic defensive wounds. This is your standard altercation that gets out of hand and someone grabs a knife, domestic attacks, etc.

    Fucking Krav. Krav's knifework sucks. I'd put it slightly above Systema.

    Agreed, although, I have to say I did like this clip - appropriate protective gear and resisting attackers:

    That said, it puts a lie to the clip in the OP where it's effortless to keep a knife-wielder at largo range.

    OK, so I finally watched this.

    Slightly more polished than Luke Holloway, the "advice" portion was solid...but the technique...bullshit.

    And I say this as someone who has kicked a broken bottle out of someone's hand.

    I seriously need to start posting videos of good stuff just to make up for the crap Luke Holloway and this kid put out.

    Just posted the same video on MAP

    Cannot believe this fucking shite is still in existence. Here is another video of what knife defence done by an experienced and exceptionally capable practitioner looks like - spot the difference

    What has become of Luke? Is he still in business? There's a MABS thread on him but it seems to have cooled down somewhat.
