Guitar. Since I was 8, (19 years now). Went to school for it and everything. I play the 7-string for fun with a band comprised of friends now. If we manage to get a recording done I'll put it up, see what you guys think. I've also studied piano and flute, although I am not proficient at either now.

Used to be the drummer for a lion dance group. I kinda miss the giant drum. When I got into FMA, I learned more drum beats used there, on a conga drum mostly. This got me more interested in drumming and I started learning drumming at the World Beat Center (dumbek, specifically). After the drumming class there was a bellydancing class, and some drummers would stay to drum for them (I tried to do this whenever possible). I tend to be the drummer for our FMA demos (gonna be playing 2 shows this weekend). Although when I get together with some Burner drummers I realize that being a good martial arts drummer is a drop in the ocean of percussion.

I sang opera in college. That's how I met my wife, actually.

I played the Viola. LOL. My sister learned Suzuki. Then to help her I learned how to play the Violin on my own. Played the trumpet. Have two turntables and a microphone.

Been playing stringed instruments since I was a kid.

Can also program drum machines, pass as a keyboardist (in the right genres) and compose / produce digitaly and I know my way around an analogue studio as well.

Never got rich. Never got famous. Had some fun live gigs over the years. Played in a lot of bands. Mostly just produce or play whatever whenever as a hoby / meditation these days.

Re-biult a $25 Yamaha Classical guitar I found at the Berkley Flea Market and started teaching myself to play old standards and such. It's a fun diversion from the pain and monotony of the day to day grind.

I've actually been on the lookout for one for a while! (I grew up playing violin, but the little #$&%#@$ don't fit my big, ungainly frame anymore.)

Haven't seen ant killer deals yet though. Mostly sub-4/4 size violins.

I'm also on the hunt for an inexpensive saxophone (not so easy to find...). I just want to do my best Tim Capello imitation, once before I croak.

Also have an ongoing project to build an electric 3/4 Contra Bass out of mostly found materials. That one is taking a while...
