Ok, so the waiver isn't much of an issue.
Thanks for the links WhiteShark. I'm still not so sure though, they say elbows and knees to head are allowded but sometimes not (?). We'll see what kind of equipment my friend has and decide then.
I will only punch though and have my own equipment, so he just needs to have 1 set of protections for himself and I don't mind the full rules. Just don't want bone to bone. -

i thought that waivers don't mean **** if you were negiligent. ie you own a school and someone trips in a hole on the mat you can still be sued but it does cover your ass if say he sues sayin g that he was not aware that he might break his nose sparring. but i ain't a lawyer so don't quote me on that

If this is a friend of yours and you're fighting a firendly match, then I wouldn't worry about any of these things. Just settle on some sort of a stanradr ruleset and spar. There's no need, really, for friendly sparring to be so complicted. You're not gonna take him to court if e busts up your nose, and if he's a friend then it's safe to assume that neither will he.

Yeah, yesterday we spoke again and settled for that. As I said I'm mostly interested to see how I do against someone that kicks (especially to legs). We'll see how it goes.Originally posted by WhiteShark
I'll make it simple for you no elbows and knees to the HEAD.
1) Elbows are mostly for cutting your opponent there is no need to do that sparring.
2) Knees to the head will easily get you KTFO no need to risk that sparring.
