Oh yes, we have an entire thread laughing about this crap. People made ammo and gun shops sit pretty for 6 months. There was a point, where people would sit at Bass Pro Shop and pay 3 times the amount for a low end AR.

I have to join the consensus. Whatever shotgun will work fine. If you encounter intruders willing to fight back against an occupant with any shotgun, it's probably a SWAT team, and you're going to die. So get a gun you like, shoot it enough to know how it points, and pick ammo that is not going to wander around your neighborhood looking for small children and nuns after it penetrates your exterior walls.

Did I say Remington 870 ? I meant Mossburg 500. Remingtons are total suck.

I for one like the idea of an SBR AR15 I can't own an SBR but I can have a Pistol with a nice cheek weld.
I can get a lower for practically free but I can't afford a decent upper right now so oh well.

Man, I feel like such a hipster going against the mainstream.
Mossberg > Remington, IMO. Remington doesn't hold up to Mossy in harsh conditions and sheer durability.

EDIT: I'm basing this on Army trials results, I don't ever get to run a shotgun to its limits

Condition one, if you can handle the responsibility.

Agreed. Superior placement of the safety. Lighter weight receiver. Dual extractors. Easier to load due to the elevator mechanism. Easier to replace ejector if needed because it screws in and isn't riveted like the Remington.

I'm not going to turn my nose up at the Remington though. Still a great gun and the steel receiver gives you a wider range of refinishing options.

    Meh, kinda unimpressed. Seems gimmicky.
