Bartitsu on the cover of the Wall Street Journal

It must be a very slow news day for an article on Bartitsu to have made the front page of the WSJ:

Wow Bartitsu's publicity has come a long way in a few short years, considering how long it's been around.

Hopefully this will continue for years to come, every time there is a new Sherlock Holmes boom like with the new movies, it'll be a boost for bartitsu as well.

Yeah, we got lucky re. the Sherlock Holmes revival and the steampunk fad. If you'd told me five years ago that Bartitsu would be on the cover of the Wall Street Journal, I would have chuckled merrily.

You guys know what happens next right?

Every business guy on Wall Street will start looking into Bartitsu classes, just like they started reading Sun Tzu like lemmings when told it contained ninja-like secret business tactics. Bartitsu will become the next big "warrior businessman" concept/fad.

Now is a great time to join, open or invest in a Bartitsu school. That is the message I got from the WSJ today.

If it led to gentleman's walking sticks coming back into fashion, I'd approve.

Just for clarity, the image of the newspaper in the first post is a Photoshop composite - the story appears below the fold on the first page of the print edition, not directly under the banner.

Now you know why I bought the purpleheart jo.

Edit: Why do I keep saying jo? It's officially a purpleheart gun.

Cold Steel used to make a gent's walking stick out of purpleheart:

I got one after they started making them in Ash, then added my own design work:
