In addition to Scipio's post, I believe that this Lee Parris is listed as "LP" on the Specialist Training Authority Board members page. Screen shot can be found on post #713 above.

Richard Dyas STA AKA Richard Spencer ICA

I thought there was something a bit fishy with Mr Richard "Dyas". Using the search term "richard dyas STA linkedin" I thought I'd check the images. Guess what I found here?

That links to one of Spencer's Google+ accounts that he didn't even bother to change the name of.

You might have thought that Spencer had learn't his lesson with the ICA.

I will be interested in seeing who will be offering the training. It does seem to be the same kind of courses at the ICA probably delivered by Spencer. This guy does not appear to have the background to deliver this kind of training. I hope he has some better quality trainers.

I have a feeling that like the ICA the STA will try to operate as a franchise, Spencer recruits "trainers" from his courses and get them to deliver future courses. The website certainly seems to indicate this.

Be good to hear from those in the "know", if he has improved his business services to those outlined earlier in the thread. The way he has been editing websites makes me doubt it though.

Me too. Will it be the Specialist Training Authority, Specialist Training Academy or the International Specialist Training Academy?

    I'm confused.

    STA Btec

As mentioned the STA are offering a BTEC qualification. I have just had confirmation back from Pearson who are the BTEC awarding body that they have never heard of the STA.

It appears that any claim that the STA makes about offering a BTEC qualification is false.

    Nice one.

In researching the board members, I've noticed that a few of them only have security "qualifications" that have been issued by the STA.

Hopefully they didn't have to pay for these and Richard just circle jerked them onto the site.

This is a complete rerun of the ICA where Spencer claimed false training provider credentials.

The STA claims that it's training is:

"The Security Industry Authority (SIA) have confirmed that this course sufficiently covers the scope of the SIA specification for Private Investigators when licensing commences in 2014 which will lead to an exemption for proof of competence for those applicants who have achieved the qualification."

I have contacted the STA for confirmation

    Same old, same old.

With the few legitimate (I believe) professionals he's managed to get on board with this, he could have made it work without all the BS.

Looks like Spencer is running courses again in and around the Cardiff area.

Sorry if the picture quality is a bit crap.

Seems to be using the same graphics as the ICA.

The price does seem to be a bit cheaper but again what exactly are you getting? A qualification that isn't worth the paper it is written on.....
