If push comes to shove, I'll buy myself the Ruger and get her a Glock or whatever she settles on. There is no law that says I can't own multiple handguns.

And lo, Kano looked down upon the field and saw the multitudes. Amongst them were the disciples of Uesheba who were greatly vexed at his sayings. And Kano spake: "Do not be concerned with the mote in thy neighbor's eye, when verily thou hast a massive stick in thine ass".

Out of curiosity do you have one of those ranges nearby where you can try before you buy?

Yep, that's where she tried the Glock and the Sig. They have the free ladies night Tuesday and Thursday. You can switch out as many guns, of the same caliber, for the same price. You just have to buy slightly inflated bullet prices. We are going back to try the P-99 and a few other 9mms.

Sorry, I hate this gun. In fact, I hate all ruger autos.
Its unreliable. I'd have a failure of some sort every 500 or so rounds.
Its a gun 'good on paper.' The egros are great, until you actually fire a shot. Its hard to bring back on target, its snappy in all the wrong ways. Basically, designed and released in a hurry and it shows it. Basically, IMO **** the ruger SR9C. Most people who tell you they are cool are people who are occasional plinksters and never had to run that gun under pressure.

Its teh Mitsubishi Eclipse of the pistols. Don't get it.

I have BK hands too. This is what I recommend:
Smith Wesson M&P series. If you are getting it for HD, range, or home defense, get the Pro version.
For her though, being new to guns and all, I recommend a traditional DA/SA. Newer berettas (like made after 2002 ish) not too bad on small hands. Actually, by beretta I mean stoeger (lol). Try the Stoeger Cougar. It is basically my favorite pistol ever, and its got the 'newer' style beretta grip cutout.

Its great to try guns and see which ones fit the best, but sometimes you have to make compromises in egro and 'feel' to get the right gun. Which is what all glock guys have basically done. (lol)

Don't get a crap gun because it feels right in your hands, is what I am saying.

My girlfriend has tiny hands and she likes the XD-9 all right, but she loves my 1911. Perhaps one in 9mm would be a good investment? Another one to check out might be the CZ P01. Its grips are not huge and every one of them I've played with is an absolute tack driver.

1911 is on my list of guns to eventually purchase. I'll add that to the list of guns to rent at the range.
    I hate all ruger autos.
My .45 has about aprox 15000+ rounds. Makes me wonder if the quality went to ****.

My gun is 10 years old never had a problem. Good advice, I just don't like the grip, recoil, and look of a glock. Could be bias because it was known, negatively, as a police weapon.

I'm certainly with you on not liking the feel of a Glock. They're fine weapons and pretty accurate but that grip angle is a non-starter for me.

The Gen 4 Glocks come with large, medium and small grip inserts. I have small hands and I can shoot an older Glock 22 OK, but I tried one with the small inserts and it was GREAT.

The SW MP has a slim grip plus inserts as well. I wanted an M&P for my duty weapon, but the sheriff transferred a fullsized glock 22 to the court so I didn't get a new weapon.
