-basic sweeps / trips from standing
    -newaza chokes, pins & submissions
-new people: practicing newaza chokes & submissions on compliant ukes / experienced people: newaza randori
-randori / shiai from standing position

    I liked it a lot!
Sounds very similar to what I did last class

    - Warmup (including shrimping and the like)
    - Ukemi
    - Uchikomi
    - Lighter randori (working on technique over power, eventually looking for specific basic throws)
    - Some drilling of harai goshi
    - Full power/buried throws on the crash mat
    - Newaza randori for pins and then general newaza randori
    - Cooldown

That's it, I'm moving back to California.

So, BJJ, leather games, circus performers, drugs, kungfu AND bacon too?

Sure wish I'd been there -- they don't have parties like that in Virginia.

The couple camping next to us were genuine circus performers, and the guy and I talked amateur mycology for quite a while. Bacon was pretty common too- next to the main stage, one guy was just cooking bacon on a stove for whoever was walking by (great way to make friends). There was also flamethrowers and a Tesla coil, and a big public foam bath/shower where everyone got naked (including me).

They probably do: this was the Burning Man community- they're all over! There was an East Coast event the same weekend.

Attendance has been down in class lately and all I've really been doing lately is working with the kids and madly spin kicking the bag but, last night a couple of black belts came in while they were on winter break from college. It was great to see those guys again and see what they had been practicing in their new schools and how I had improved since fighting them last...Even if I did end up on the wrong end of a shoulder choke.

    Super cool thread.

On Monday, we warmed up with burpees and tuck jumps.
    5-10 minutes working yoko tomoenage.
30-35 minutes situational sparring from makikomi grip (****, I'm still recovering).
    15-20 minutes full randori
    5ish minutes 60% randori
    10 rope climbs

Taught the kids some basic striking.

My judo instructor took video of some randori I was doing with one of the black belts that compete and I learned that I am out of shape, and still fall on some bad habits when playing. He told me he still sees too much TKD in my movements. See TKD sucks for the grappling!

Here is the video for many lulz!!

Last night was boxing so 6 rounds of jump rope, 6 rounds of shadowbox, 6 rounds of heavy bag. Then we worked combos on the mitts for a few rounds, everyone had to run a mile in 7:30 or less, sets of 50 each of our 6 different ab exercises and then topped it off with a five minute round of non-stop, high-volume punching on the heavy bag.

After all that, we had some visiting fighters from another local gym come in to spar with some of our guys who have amateur bouts coming up this weekend so I watched that for a while.

We had a live-bait eating contest. I threw up on somebody's son. Took first place, though.
