    Hell yeah! Hell no!
    No training this week, as the footbridge leading to the gym is closed and doesn't appear to be easily accessible to pedestrians without it. Did a few minutes on the hanging tyre outside with the long sticks, trying to concentrate on targeting with my left hand since that's a major weak point at the moment.

    It's been an awesome last several days of training! Playmobil Marcelo is in town and I've learned a ton! Friday was some guard work, Saturday guard passing work, Monday De La Riva work, Last night No Gi open guard (de la riva). It's been an awesome time! Got to take him out to Denali on Sunday, and had him over for dinner last night. Learned probably more outside the gym than in, about a whole range of topics including Carlson Gracie, Vitor Belfort, Jiu Jitsu in general, competition, Brazil, economics, wine...

    He gave me some good feedback last night after watching me roll with a purple belt, he was telling me I go down too fast (meaning I give up top position for guard too easily). I've got a lot to work on :)

    Tonight I tripped over a ferret, sprained my ankle on a saucepan and almost brained myself on the microwave. No training for me for a day or three!

    Spent a good part of last night rehearsing for 2 demos this weekend. Sayaws, sinawali, moro moro, carenza, and a stick sparring match with me and another guy. My teacher is only having me play the drum though (except for sparring). Not sure if that means I'm bad at eskrima or good at drumming.

    training today was bitter sweet. No Gi class, practiced double leg TDs and kimora from gaurd. Randori had to tap to a knee bar and caught a very good JJ guy in a guillotine choke, that was the sweet part. The bitter part is that after many years I have decided to give up grappling at the gym. Years of submission wrestling, Jiu jitsu and bouncing are starting to take there toll on my joints and old injuries. I am still strong and lift weights and would like to do some boxing training, but my days of weekly grappling are done. I realize their are guys older than me still hitting it hard on the mat but its just not working for me anymore.

    Tues: Two-person arm and leg conditioning drills.

    Thurs: Herbal liniment applications, and identifying/tending tissue and bone injuries (dit da seurng faw)

    Tuesday: Review of Pinions, Punch Attack Defenses and Grab Art Defenses 12. Then a lot of conditioning, Pushups, Sit ups, Squats, V-Ups, Suicides, etc. I still felt it on Thursday, and during swim practice on Wednesday when we had to do some sit ups, I could barely move haha.

    Thursday: (I teach a class that overlaps my class by about 15 minutes, not too much.) (What they were doing when I went to the other side of the mat) Crunches, Pushups. Then we split the class in half and started sparring for the rest of the time. A day well spent.

    Ended up lifting today cause today was LEG DAAAAAAY! My legs are certifiably 100% destroyed
