    Hell yeah! Hell no!

What did you do in class today?

Something someone said on another thread has made me think about why I prefer Bullshido to Sherdog or the Underground. I think the main attraction of this place is the variety of styles in our userbase, so with that in mind, tell me what you trained in your last class.

For us, this evening's program was:

    Arcos (twirling sets)
    Abesedarios (blocking/striking/footwork drills)
    Siniwali (2 stick striking drills)
    Bagwork
    Sparring
I also learned form 4 and Katje learned form 1.

I'd also like to take a moment to say how proud I am of my wife, Katje, who has just started training again after more than a year of severe illness and inactivity and who managed to spar for several rounds WEKAF style with a class full of unfamiliar men, several of whom she hadn't met before.

    Get my ass kicked.
However I am starting to recover my ability. I did manage to semi-legitimately get a pass on a purple belt today so that was cool.

I managed to get elbowed in the nuts. Also ate some girl's hair while she was between my legs.

Last night was my first night back to training in about 5-6 weeks after re-injuring my shoulder. Last night was judo, training for the 2013 Alaska State Judo Championships which are next Saturday in Anchorage.

Anyway, we started doing 3 for 3 (you do any 3 throws, than your partner does any 3 throws), then moved onto you go for an attack, and your partner defends and counters. After that we did something similar only with more resistance. Basically we were doing full randori, only one person was to attack constantly, while the other only defended and countered (switching back and forth on each set).

Then we worked some ground work, one person turtles, the other had to roll them over or go for a sub within about 10 seconds.

Good day back to training, shoulder feels mostly good, though I have to be careful, there are certain things I can't really do...

Last night we had a short senior (adult and u15 and up) practice after taking club photo for the end of the season. I did uchikomi with one of my shodan, mostly Ippon Seoi Nage. I was emphasizing really hooking up the shoulder of uke and maintaining proper distance (not stepping too close initially). We worked both right and left from right grip (both of us are righties). We also did nagekomi (throwing drills). Two juniors worked on basically the same thing under observation/instruction by another black belt.

So about 30 minutes of training (the other guys had already been through thej junior class and were warmed up). I then went home and went for a quick bike ride because the evening was so spectacularly beautiful.

Last judo class we were working on yoko tomo nage, and then a yoko tomo nage transition to juji gatame which you probably can't get away with these days due to needing to grab a leg to make it work.

Last kendo class I got jack **** done as I was outfitting three new people in rental bogu.

Now for a more detailed response. I really like the morning classes of the new place I just started going to.
Start with 5 mins of Yoga
2 rounds of rolling for position to warm up.
Then the couch goes around the circle answering questions.
Then the remainder of the 2 hours is rolling.

after class everyone seems to hang out for a good bit of time and the instructor covers any questions that came up while rolling.

It is mostly made up of Purple Belts and dedicated Blues.

Next monday night me and my wife will go to the "fundamentals" class.
