Disregard the goofy guard pulls... I was just jacking around for no good reason. Under the American rules, there's a lot more opportunity for guard play.

My first sumo tournament. My tachiai REALLY sucks here, but I honestly didn't know how to handle a 3rd degree sumo BB who outweighed me by 200lbs, LOL.

I'm just in the first 90 seconds or so. The second match, which is hard to see, won me the state champs.
The first match has some awkward ground transitions because the dude was soooo stiff, but that's actually what allowed me to hit the ura nage, eventually.

I tried, in this particular tournament, to play the points game, which is something that I don't do very well, or very often. I ended up getting second.
You can see me going for takedown and pass points, and then stalling at the end to make sure I win. I think the ref missed one takedown and one pass, though. Not the most exciting thing.

Video of a sumi gaeshi from a Russian-style sleeve-and-far-shoulder grip that I hit yesterday at a BJJ comp. The guy ended up taking my back and winning on points, which means I just need to work on the BJJ rules some more.

Scary thing is, I recognized both refs in the video of the first match, the one on the mat and the one standing in front of the camera...
Nice work, thanks for sharing.

Try more tsuki/slapping next time to piss him off, then dodge when he charges you.
