This is very true, but those moves have porpose in they can be used in a safe enviroment. Its not so much I think the headbut is completely useless I think time is better served on other things.

That last post came odd I blame my phone and its to late to edit it.

I find it funny that there are actually more moves that I would be willing to use in the ring and not on the street then moves I would use on the street but not in the ring. What this typically means in my philosophy on the street is to keep yourself safe vs "winning". Much like when you're rolling with someone that is several belts higher. Survive as long as you can till a clean opportunity opens up.

The ring is more or less a safe place. Say if I bait my arm for a pass worse thing that happens in the ring is I lose a match. Now if I do that on the street and give up a nasty choke or a really bad position then it could literally be my life.

Can we please get this discussion back to Michael Dokes vs. Remco Pardoel?

How do you train headbutting, exactly?

I've seen one of the other security dudes at the bar I work out lay people straight the **** out with a head butt on more than one occasion when they get all grabby on his clothes (and on one occasion when the dude was puffing up like he was abut to fight, but that was very preemptive). I'm so tall that I'd probably on break my own nose on most dudes foreheads but it definitely seems 'street effective' to me. I'm just not sure how you'd really train it the same way you can train your jab or your hip throw or something. Maybe by thinking angry thoughts?

Also, Chuck and Tranquil wanted to know about MMA being used to kill elderly people. Besides a couple of personal anecdotes, this is all I can provide:

    http://www.mixedmartialarts.com/f/40...hua-Bradberry/

    http://www.disclosurenewsonline.com/...n-elderly-man/

If you just want to learn about MMA being used offensively in Streetrealm, look up War Machine's (Formerly Jon Koppenhaver) Wikipedia page. Judging from what I've seen skimming over Sherdog headlines, he seems to beat someone to death every few months. Also look up Rafiel Torre. His actual MMA career was about as legitimate as Frank Dux's Kumite conquests, but he did in fact kill a man with jiu-jitsu.

It's all up to you of course, but nose-butting might be a bit of a low-percentage strike.

Can't say for anybody else, but I put it in focus mitt training - f'rinstance, against a jab/cross/hook, responding with parry/bob & weave, and the feeder finishes with a mitt against the chest, so you can drive forward from the bottom of the weave, with a Zidane-style headbutt.

I put headbutts into my heavy bag combos sometimes.

Maybe he trains the iron nose technique. It's like iron fist only instead o sand or pebbles...

    Buttholes.

Much like biting, eye gouging and other "dirty" tactics, headbutts are higher percentage when executed from a dominant position.

For reference, see the Mark Coleman example earlier in the thread.
