    Hell yeah! Hell no!

Lucas Browne becomes the first MMA fighter to beat James Toney in a boxing match

Not that beating James Toney at this stage of his career is an incredible achievement or anything.

But I think this closes an interesting chapter of MMA history. James Toney signs up for UFC, get embarrassed by Randy Couture. Two years later, Toney fights former CFC and XMMA fighter Lucas Browne who also trains out of Elite Fight Gym nearly knocks Toney out.

    The scores were 117-111, 119-109, 120-108.

Browne, by the way, wins the lowly-regarded WBF world heavyweight title in the process.

I know Lucas, I worked with him and have maintained sparse contact with him over the years, he's a top bloke and scary as hell. He has been focused on boxing for the past couple of years, knocking dudes out hand over fist (pun intended). This fight with Toney heralded a step up on to the world stage. He has already fought internationally and made a name for himself, now you can be guaranteed to see him storm the ranks. It's fucking awesome seeing someone I know hit this level. He even made it to the national news, which is a rarity over here.

War "Big Daddy"!!! (That's his fight name, not my pet name for him)

I've been keeping my eye on Lucas Browne ever since he was supposed to fight Richard Towers in Hong Kong. Towers pulled out of the fight at the very last moment, so Browne fought Jason Gavern instead.

He KOed Gavern in 3 rounds.

IMO, Browne could go far in boxing. Currently, he has a KO ratio of 88%!
