Nah, congrats on your goal achievement, though. Thanks for the offer and all, but I'm too busy doing MMA specific circuit training, tabata, 21 down burpees, weights, kettle bells, sparring, rolling, pad rounds, more tabata, more circuit, body weight exercises and more of all the above. Also, religiously sticking to the intermittent fasting eating program. In 7-8 weeks I have lost 12-13kg, overall in the two year period, over 30kg.

Running cardio is not the cardio I need. Unless you are talking HIIT. And if it is HIIT, I might as well do an exercise that is specific to my needs.

Again, congrats on your achievement. Running is just not for me.

Well, it's not as if it's the only thing I do, but it just seems to have brought together a lot of other things I was missing.

Kettlebells, pad work, sparring...love all that stuff too.

Sounds like you're kicking some ass. Good play!

Looks like you've nailed it anyway however, if you want some Mil fit training advice on how to increase stamina/core strength and cardio vascular levels let me know.

Goferit! You'll need to spin up that mileage considerably if you want to do more than survive it though.

I'm backing off the running this summer, two years in a row of marathon training was enough, the mileage was really wearing on me and my family. I'll do a couple of halfs and a 10k and call it a season.

I despise running, but since I learned how to do it without shin splints, I have no excuse not to. So I grind out 10-15 miles a week in the morning and do my pads and sparring at night. It keeps me from going too far above my fighting weight. I averaged 5-7K a day in Thailand and did 10K once, just to see if I could, and I think it was the only time I've ever legitimately had runner's high. I broke out into giggles when I was done.
