BJJ for Jake
Great opportunity to work on your game and make a difference in the life of a child.
Joe D'Arce and the Vamos brothers. Need I say more?

Here's another way to sacrifice your body to help young Jake Stan (one that doesn't involve being choked/thrown/arm-barred!):
Due to the chemo treatments Jake has been receiving, he is constantly in need of both blood and platelet transfusions. Targeted blood and platelet donations can be made at Memorial Sloan Kettering in Manhattan by reaching out to:
Manager, Blood Donor Program
I spoke with Joe and he anticipates Jake needing platelets again during the week of 5/11-5/18.
PLEASE give Joe a call if you want to help out (be sure to mention that you're calling on Jake Stan's behalf!).
This is truly a great way to give a little piece of yourself to help a young boy that desperately needs it.

From the Staniszewki Family:
"Hello Everyone. It's been 64 days since we first learned that our little boy has cancer. Since then, Jake has endured three rounds of intense chemotherapy accompanied by many side effect and complications; blood and platelet transfusions; weeks upon weeks of hospitalization and most recently, the insertion of a feeding tube. Throughout it all, Jake has remained strong. Yesterday we received the results of scans to assess Jake's progress. Although anything less than a miracle saddens us, the news was optimistic. The chemo is working! The tumors are responding and shrinking. This week we will be mapping out a future treatment plan which is expected to include 9 more rounds of chemo, in addition to, possible surgical and radiological intervention. We are hopeful and BELIEVE that Jake will fight his way to recovery and earn the title of "survivor". Thank you all for the love and support you have given Jake and for your continued thoughts and prayers. We are forever grateful."
Hopefully Jake continues to fight the good fight!

Shameless bump of this thread....
I will not be able to attend (have had vacation plans for this weekend for months),
but my wife will be there for sure. I'll also be ponying up an extra 40 bucks so if there are any LI bullies that can't attend b/c of a tight budget, hit me up with a PM and you can use my 40$ as your suggested donation.
Spread the word!

Had a great time at the clinic. Thanks to the Vamos Brothers and Joe D'Arce and his crew for giving their time and energy to teach us and to help Mark's family. Thanks to Mike and Mark for hosting these great BJJ players. All of you guys are first class in my book!I feel like you eye-bawlin' me, dawg!
