UK MMA Crowd. I need some assistance

    Guys,

Is this person known to you?

Apart from the possible MMA connection, I'm also interested in the following claim of having served in the UK Special Forces Support Group.

The guy apparently lives somewhere around the Chatham Medway area.

    Thanks

Apart from the military service, what else is he claiming?

"Seargent" - I think not. If he ever was one, he'd at least learn to spell it correctly; it's not a rank easily given away.

RE? They're down that way, one of my ex-bosses [Lt Col RE] has just Retired there.

SFSG. I don't think so...not 2004. I'm fairly sure 1 PARA were hived off to SFSG after that date. Can't quite remember the date at the moment.

    Hmm.

At this stage guys, this is not an investigation.

The person in question is making a military service claim which is quite obviously false however, I'm also interested in whatever possibility there may be in this person being involved in MMA.

I doubt it, but I'm interested non the less

He has a photo in his "Me" folder showing an apparent sniper, carrying what appears to be an AI rifle. This person is wearing multi-cam and has a patch that I can't make out. Maybe you can...

Pictured is a British soldier with his sniper rifle on board a Merlin helicopter on route to Camp Shawquat, Nad-e Ali.

British snipers fulfil a vital and enduring role on the battlefield, in terms of intelligence-gathering, target identification and eliminating high-value targets.

The L115A3 rifle, part of the Sniper System Improvement Programme (SSIP), is a large-calibre weapon which provides state-of-the-art telescopic day and night all-weather sights, increasing a sniper's effective range considerably.

I'm pretty sure keeping your finger on the trigger of your rifle is an international statement meaning "I've never handled a rifle before in my life". Busted straight up.

That's a picture of a soldier from the Royal Irish Rangers

The patch is the Union Flag with his blood group.

I notice his service dates are '91 - '04 but THIS says that SFSG wasn't officially formed until 2006 (sorry for a wiki reference; it was just the first one up). Its been over 12 years since I was serving but if memory serves, it was possible to get attached to the Special Forces but there was no actually group designation. You were just doing your job for a different Corp. or Reg.

His time in service also seems to put him outside of the P.V.R. windows suggesting (if he did indeed serve) a medical discharge or discharge for other reasons.

I haven't checked the MMA bits yet.
