How do you deal with losing your temper in training?
Right so, basically today I almost lost the head with a guy in training. No, I didn't really have a good reason, but it happened. Anyway to deal with it I faked an injury before we did any randori, made my excuses, and I went home.
Now I feel really bad about faking the injury - I'd be pissed off if someone else did that - but if I'd stayed I might have tried to hurt the guy which would have been worse.
Anyway, how do you guys stay cool as cucumbers when classes start going stupid?
I just do my best to drill no matter the conditions and I tell myself that at least I didn't make the situation even more stupid.

That has happened to me a few times. The main thing I try to do is take deep breaths and talk to myself in my head. I know that I fight better when my head is clear and I'm not mad, so I talk myself into believing that this is part of his strategy, and to beat him I have to stay calm. I know it sounds dumb, but it seems to work for me.

I usually give myself a time out. When we are actually sparring I will take a knee rather than lose my temper.
Being a testosterone fueled teenager, it's all too easy to lose my temper.
The best way to deal with anger, I found, is sleep.

We are trained not to. but breakdowns are part of the training. Sometime it is intentional.
But MMA has training points where they are in mount and hitting you so you have to deal with it.
If you need to go into the toilet and cry that is fine. When you are done you accept that it is a mental game as well as a physical one. You go back out and resume training.
Your next emotional breakdown should then take a bit longer untill you eventually develop a callous.
We have a training session for our fighters called a gauntlet. Where everybody in the room beats on one guy for fifteen minutes. The running gag is that at the end of that we are basicly climbing the walls of the cage to escape the wrath of the guy in the middle.

Do you hide the fact you are taking a time out because you are pissed off, or do you make it clear?
Also, when I do get pissed off, it's usually due to a build up of small things, not usually one big thing. (One thing goes wrong, and I can usually convince myself that it was a freak occurrence, regardless of the evidence.) When someone's being difficult through the whole class, I'm not sure that taking a time out will do any good; unless it's very near the end of the class and I can grit my teeth and hold my tongue when I rejoin the class and the difficulty starts up again.
