    Hell yeah! Hell no!
I was a little disappointed with this because Tom Hardy really talked up Bane's fighting style and made me expect the fights were going to be unique. All we really got was the typical Monster Heel no-sell from Bane and an hilarious attempt at a war cry from Batman. I don't rank it as a bad fight, though, because there was some cool exposition and Bane did his backbreaker. Plus it didn't have the fucking shakey-cam thing that plagued Batman Begins and a fuckton of other American made action movies in recent years.
It is the best fight scene between Batman and an arch- foe in any of the three Nolan movies.
The choreography was nothing special, but it would have been unrealistic to have Bane fighting and winning in any other fashion than the way he did. Brute strength and a tolerance to pain were the two advantages he held over Batman, not fighting skill..not really. If anything, they would be close to perhaps equals in that department.
I think the atmosphere and the edginess make the scene pretty good.

Haha. I almost busted out the old Spiderman. Beat me to it.

I would counter with The Greatest American Hero, but that might be too much kickassery for a mere martial arts forum.

Hardy described Bane's fighting style as clinical and brutal, revolving around breaking limbs, small joint manipulations, and bashing skulls. The fact that he even went out of his way to describe it made me think it was going to be a little more unique than what it was. And the Monster Heel no-sell doesn't make a whole lot of sense when you start panicking as soon as one of the tubes on your face breaks.

None of this stuff really affects the overall quality of the movie, though. Like I said, I was only a LITTLE disappointed.

I agree.. didn't see that particular interview though.

    Yeah, I know.
That was one thing that bugged me about the whole thing too.
I mean, realistically, you would think that if you had to throwdown with a dude like that and he was wearing some sort of mask, breaking or damaging it would be one of the first things you would try.Its what I would do, and I'm not even a genius detective.
I think you would assume it was a point of weakness and exploit it.
Having said that, I'm sure the mask was built to withstand an all-out assault..maybe he hadn't done enough damage to it the first time around.

Oh man ! I was so hyped for this episode when I was a kid ! I remember being slightly stunned and rather disappointed when it turned out to be a robot though..
Bigfoot-mania was at its peak when this show aired, I think it was shortly after the Patterson footage hit the media.
