    CHI Combat System

Posting this here for now although I have concerns about this crew I'm not conducting an investigation at this point. Just putting the feelers out for opinions from bullies. Yes it's YMAS but please keep on topic to some degree at least for now..

Emphasis on kids classes with gradings, kid black belts and 'character development'.
Claims of teaching multiple techniques ie: Kickboxing, Karate, Kungfu, Taichi, Jiu Jitsu, Judo and cardio fitness.
No listing of instructor credentials in said arts/techniques.

They have the appearance of a kind of 'community school' with pics of local police holding their banner etc..not a bad thing perhaps but a misleading 'endorsement' in my view.

I briefly met one of the instructors in my work capacity which kinda hamstrung my options on enquiring too directly, when I asked what he taught he said " we teach MMA and fitness mainly to kids but there is no fighting only very light sparring".
When I saw the leaflet for the school I realized he means they 'mix up' different styles..seems to be a common play on the phrase MMA these days.

I will try to find out if its a contract school and if so in what manner when they start classes here.

    Again opinions appreciated.

From the website it looks like daycare with boxing gloves. I really hope there not doing full on throws onto the gym floor though, i get sore enough falling on a mat.

This seems to be the sort of sparring drills they do:

Everything about it looks pretty poor. Poor offense, poor defense, poor strategy, poor footwork.

    Here's some instructors sparring:

clearly they're not actually trying to hit each other.

Thanks chaps, pretty much sums it up.
I hadn't had a chance to see any video until now so cheers Permalost.
Following on from what you posted I saw this one:

This is a '2nd degree' demo. Its awful.
They are hiring space where I work and I suppose their pretty harmless (especially in a fight), don't seem to be making any grand claims so not much more to say except I wouldn't send any kids there.

I'll have issues with them if they start claiming to teach self defence or suchlike..

Will have a friendly chat with them when they come in, see if I can find out more..might drop the 'daycare with boxing gloves' line see how they react..

I'm bothered by the lack of info on instructors credentials. The man in the vid above is the head honcho I believe. Colour me very unimpressed.

Judging by that "form" their core principles must clearly centre around cow-kicking with a geek hunch. I hope they're not telling people they can use that for any kind of actual combat!
