    5 Muay Thai Techniques for Mixed Martial Arts from Ocean Springs, MS

    Hey guys,

    I've had a lot of requests for some basic stand up fighting instructional videos, including from a few people in here. I hope these fundamental concepts can help some of the people in here out. Here's 5 Muay Thai techniques I use a lot in MMA, and that have helped me win fights in the UFC. It's pretty basic, but I hope you enjoy it:

    Feel free to subscribe to my channel, I have some more advanced videos to come!

    PS

    I'm doing a free webinar next thursday on escaping and defending grappling attacks for people that want to avoid danger on the ground and get the fight back standing! If you want to be a stand up fighter in MMA get your name on the list here:

    I'll be doing Q & A in the webinar too, so if you have any good questions save them for the webinar!

    I use that counter kick all the time, it's great. Especially if you can catch the liver with it. I like to go to the inside of the front leg with it too, though. It really keeps people from getting comfortable and trying to come in hard, because the harder they come in, the worse their balance gets broken by the inside kick. I actually made a 200 pounder at my gym do a split with it from trying to jab my nose through the back of my head.

    Thank you for putting this together. These are pretty basic, but that's the beauty of it. I use these techniques in my fighting (as do you) even though they are 'basic'.

    Nice; I especially liked the last one.
    Regarding no.2, the counter elbow: when you're throwing it, you're stepping toward your opponent's right side; I guess I would feel vulnerable to a counter right hand or right knee as I was stepping in. How would one preclude against such?
    The fool thinks himself immortal,
    If he hold back from battle;
    But old age will grant him no truce,
    Even if spears spare him.
