    They rated both martial arts, wrestling and boxing. Add them together and get an average, theres your MMA for ya.

    doing both things would be adding not averaging. since boxing was #1 and MMA is boxing+grappling= MMA>boxing so MMA=#1

    No fucking way dude, first time people in china had ever watched the superbowl was the janet jackson titty show. The NFL is big in the US. PRide is HUGE in Japan. Lots of dinero. Silva does shaving commercials.

    Boxing will dominate - purely because your average man on the street can watch boxing and understand it straight away.

    Your average man on the streets isn't going to have a clue about skilled takedowns, arm bars, triangle chokes etc - to them it just looks like 2 guys in underwear hugging each other from different angles.

    When they say "martial arts" I'm pretty sure they mean MMA, not kickboxing or ISKA tournaments. That is the major professional "martial arts" related sport.

    I sent them an email asking for a clarification. I'll let people know if I get a reply.

    One major problem that MMA has is that anything can happen. It is such a complex sport, it is hard for a dominant long standing champion that people can identify with to emerge.
