I disagree. I can state my opinion or make a suggestion on a subject without expecting other people to agree. In other words, I was giving my perspective. You might agree and decide to drop the subject or you might disagree and continue arguing with a person that said he was going to stop posting. Your decision.

I never said my opinion wasn't subject to critical evaluation. You never criticized my idea of knowing when to stop winning, though. You argued that you weren't trying to win anything at all. This could come down to a semantics discussion of the meaning of the word "winning". I'm not sure if anyone wants that.

Concerning my moral education... I don't know. I think it's alright. You might disagree. I never said that the fact that it happened on the internet doesn't mean it didn't happen. It's just that there are threats and insults that I don't take very seriously. Someone tells me that if a professional MMA fighter fought me in a cage I'd get my ass kicked? Well, alright. I just like not to let these things get to me. Must be my history in customer support. Getting insulted and threatened a lot might result in growing a thicker skin.

So, you may not realize it, but that is a very passive-aggressive, as well as a rather hypocritical, way to talk / write to someone. I'm not saying that you are a horrible person or gearing up for some big fight, just pointing out to you that you have fallen prey to using a common pattern of thought that involves hypocrisy as well as cutting off meaningful discussion before it can start (since the mistaken idea is that if it is just your opinion then it isn't subject to critical evaluation).

Chuck, we get it. Some people on the internet somehow have the gaul to not act exactly like you want. You know what man? You should go and write a 300,000 word letter of complaint to Al Gore. And make sure to circulate copies to all the relevant people - the UN, the President, loads of other people who, like me and those previously mentioned, don't give a ****. The bottom line is the man is a coward. The challenge has been issued. Instead of choosing an honorable decline he talks himself up to show off to his sheep, and then he passively aggressively ignores any follow up. Then he'll simply will say he forgot and somehow save face.

I asked atheistmantis a couple of questions when he whine-quit. That is the sum total of my acting as "the internet police." Several other posters had less polite things to say to him.

And where are you hallucinating angry in my exchange with Azatdawn? I like Azatdawn. He reminds me of some of my brighter undergrad students.
