Is this the thread where we realize that Dale is JFS 2.0?

I'm not trying to "win" anything. The guy threw around a bunch of insults and threats and ought to address that appropriately before he goes, if he's going. He has acted like an asshole. When people do that here, anybody is free to say so.
It's pretty ironic that you are admonishing me for trying to win other people's fights (which I didn't do) while you are in the middle of trying to tell others how to post. And adding "Just my opinion" only shows that you were aware of your hypocrisy while committing it. -

No, not really. Maybe it's a personal weakness of mine, but I felt a bit sorry for the guy. Yeah, he was spouting bullshit, but it seemed to me that at some point he became aware that all of this was too much to handle for him. He realized that he was making an ass out of himself and said that he was going to stop posting. For me, there was no reason to keep on kicking his ass while he was on his way out.
When I win something, I try to be a good winner. When I beat you at scrabble, I won't rub it in your face. What's the point? You already lost. I don't need you to spell the fact that I was better out for me.
He "ought" to adress the insults and threats before he's going? Why? Why is he ought to do anything? His posting on an internet message board was ****, he said he was going to stop. Case closed, for me, at least.
Now, about you winning other people's fights. I didn't see any of those "threats" or insults directed at you. Just surprised me to see you, then, jumping at the guy asking him to retract that stuff.
Adding "just my opinion" shows that I was aware of my hypocrisy... really, does it? Actually, I'm not aware of any hypocrisy as of now, must have been a moment of clarity. Of course, on this forum, people like to get out the big guns early to... hm... win arguments or escalate them? I'm never sure. Some have some leverage when they do it... others, not so much.
Anyway, adding "just my opinion" was an expression that implies that what I wrote was mostly opinion, not that I suggested that it was some guideline for everyone to live by. So, if you want to argue with a poster who stopped posting, do so. I don't see the necessity, is all.
The fact that I wrote so much about this now is ridiculous enough. Also, it shows that I really really don't want to write those papers that are due in two days.
I'm sure you'll have a big reply ready soon enough. I can't promise that I'll have much to add to this, though. -

Again, nobody "won" anything. A troll lied in his style field, publicly insulted Omega, and threatened several people. Then when he was shown that there was no basis for his insult, instead of manning up and responding like a decent person, he whine-quit. When someone acts like that on a discussion forum, anyone who sees it should feel free to point it out (as many others did as well).
If you don't understand why he ought to have said something about threatening and insulting people for no reason, you need basic moral education that your parents should have given you. The fact that it was on the internet doesn't mean it didn't happen. I suspect that you do know better, and are just playing dumb for the sake of arguing.
If you really thought what you said was "just your opinion" and not something others should follow, (a) you wouldn't have posted it and (b) you wouldn't have made it a response to someone else's post. You want to tell people what to do but not to have to justify it. But its being your opinion doesn't make it any less in need of justification, particularly when you express it publicly as a judgment on someone else's actions.
So, you may not realize it, but that is a very passive-aggressive, as well as a rather hypocritical, way to talk / write to someone. I'm not saying that you are a horrible person or gearing up for some big fight, just pointing out to you that you have fallen prey to using a common pattern of thought that involves hypocrisy as well as cutting off meaningful discussion before it can start (since the mistaken idea is that if it is just your opinion then it isn't subject to critical evaluation).
