atheistmantis - offering an opinion on what separates a martial artists following a traditional art form without expanding knowledge into adapting for varying styles of art. I think the term 'Varied' martial artist as opposed to 'Traditionalist' perhaps? Do these even have coin terms?

Mister - dislikes the coin term 'true' martial artist due to the fact it infers some sort of 'superiority' amongst martial artists that is somehow attained through unrealistic factors or terms. ( I agree - the concept of 'true' martial arts infers some sort of super fighter )

As much as I'd like to see this argument pan out into hilarity - I just think it's going to break down into another tit for tat.

There isn't enough bodies or blood loss yet to be a full blown train wreck. Getting there though.

    - 'Master' elderly challenges 16 y/o to no hold bars combat.
    - Practitioner notices challenge and feels a challenge directed at a 16 y/o is unprecedented and offers to accept challenge on 16 y/o behalf.

    - Forum breaks down into moral debate as to weather or not challenge was immoral as practitioner who offered to replace 16 y/o was closer to prime age of fighting and 'Master' elderly who initiated first challenge is 'too old'.
    Just to clarify this clarification:

    - Anonymous trolls irritate "Master".
    - "Master" elderly challenges trolls or anyone else to no hold bars combat.
    - 16 y/o feels compelled to test skills, asks master if he can take up this open challenge.
    - "Master" decides 16 y/o and trolls must be same person (unsubstantiated assumption) and proceeds to hate on 16 y/o and any associated with him.
    - Omega notices challenge and knows a challenge directed at a 16 y/o is illegal and offers to accept challenge on 16 y/o behalf.
    - "Master" puts on masterful display of backpedalling after agreeing to fight Omega.

Prediction to how the fight goes down:

Omega enter's Li's hotel room and finds the Master sipping Starbucks with his pants down at his ankels. The door closes and locks behind him on its own volition as this music suddenly begins to emanate from an unknown source:

An obese man in red shirt that's too small for him then crawls out from under the bed and begins aiding Li in a demonstration of the principles of Seated Taiji. The Master encourages Omega to put on the gimp suit in the corner and join in on the fun. Omega elects to just pop Li a good one in the nose instead, resulting in a three-day crying spell from the good Master and a lot of impotent rage posts on Facebook.

Leave it Erzb to come out arguing against marshal challenges on a site that wholey endorses such tests of skill beyond all other demonstrations of fighting prowess.

The word "**** whit" comes to mind...

Hehe, not really to test skills (not being cocky, but I already know I'm better and stronger than Mr. Li.), but it'd be tons of fun, that's all.
    ---------------------------

To be honest, no matter how skilled you are, it'd be a long shot to win in a stand-up fight with such a difference in physique, experience, and technique.

To give an idea of the difference, I'm currently 16, 5"8 1/2 and 140 lbs. I also have little bodyfat because I was a very skinny 120 lbs but recently started working out and eating fish + chicken and put 20 lbs on my frame. (Almost entirely leg and back)

This would be against a relatively small, looks-like-60 years old, Oriental man who probably doesn't believe in fitness. OBVIOUSLY because Wing Chun allows him to drop big white men with ease.

Of course, grappling is a different story. I've been tapped by many small girls whom I thought I'd roflstompwn because they were way better than me. It's even more embarrassing when it's your crush that does it. *Cough* But that might be why there was a crush in the first place...
ANYWAYS, I do have some very basic and beginner knowledge of grappling, but nothing to be proud of.

What's sad is that it's even more stacked against him since Omega's stepping up. Omega's 44 and a retired professional fighter correct? Ouch.
