I wouldn't call Silva beating Stann a great upset. Silva is by far the better fighter. Stann is mediocre. Silva's age is the only thing that makes this fight feasible. If Silva wasn't at the end of his career it wouldn't even be close. I know Stann was the favorite, but is it really a great upset? Not to me.

The UFC won't cut Stann. He's the type of guy they'll find a place for long term. He's a great spokesman and he fights hard. He's good for the UFC's image. They'll match him with so-so fighters who will engage with him in toe to toe slugfests for a few years, then they'll give him some other job within the organization.

    Anywho....

It's fun watching Hunt's Cinderella story, isn't it? How could anyone not like watching him? It's cool to see him closing out his career like this.

Well, it wasn't shown here in the UK - although the post-fight interview with Mark "Yeah" Hunt was shown on youtube followed by the KO.

Well for anyone questioning if the UFC is the top of mma competition just look at Hector Lombard. This guy destroyed Bellator and can barely break even in the UFC. So sad to see Stann get ko'd. I doubt they'll cut him just yet he's in the Sonnen-sphere where it's not just about his fight record anymore.

Also, lost my last post in the server rolls, what's with Struve not using elbows/knees in that mid range against guys that he should be out boxing/kicking with ease?
Daniel: I don't know if I know enough karate.

    Miyagi: Feeling correct.

Daniel: You sure know how to make a guy feel confident.

Miyagi: You trust the quality of what you know, not quantity.

he kinda holds his head low too often for such a tall fighter, although he had soaked up some nasty body shots in that last fight.
