Combining aikido and bjj?

That is incorrect. The "i" was part of the Hepburn romanizing system. For example they would originally romanized KYOTO as KIYOTO and even JUDO as JIUDO. It changed over time and newer systems are used.

5 years of BJJ and still a blue is really odd. If you are working with the people you say you are even with sporadic training at the GB school you should be a purple by now. Even if you haven't been going regularly the brown belt should be able to vouch for you skills.

Some people just advance slower than others. Maybe he just sucks.
