It is funny imagining people in the US and other anglo saxon countries trying to say jiujistu like a Brazilian with the help of phonetic symbols (most folks can not read phonetics and even then the correlation to the correct phonemes on top of that...). You all sound like this in my head right now "eiyoh keiroh umah cerweijah". Can't wait for the world cup and the olympics to come around... but then again, I hope to not be here for those two, hate the chaos as is already.

I don't know if it makes me popular. Its a popular combo that I like to do. Given its popularity, and that I also do it, I guess that makes me popular as well?

I think it's just a light hearted joke by the school owner. I don't think he seriously expects people to call it aki zhu zhitsu.

No, I was being sarcastic. In a lot of places, I could imagine going for a kani basami off a lock would get you kicked out.

Love that take down and while my old prof. had me drill it I was never allowed to do it in practice/competition.
It was one of those "it is in the syllabus but against the rules"... Sambo for the win!

Someone here posted that they trained BJJ in the same place as Simon Yeo, and that the guy never ever trained with the regular students - privates all the way to black belt.
