    Hell yeah! Hell no!

Humor at Judo Clinic/Training New Rules

Thought I'd share a funny moment from the training session on Sunday after the Pacific International held at the shiaijo on Sunday morning after the shiai.

After Mr. Sunada had given an excellent talk and demo of the new rules, we had a training session.

As we were moving around the tatami in yoko tsugi ashi (moving sideways), a friend of mine and fellow instructor tripped slightly in a crack between tatami. He caught himself right in front of me.

I commented that I had been thinking of throwing him with Okuri Ashi Barai (which in real life is a joke), and that the power of my KI had caused him to stumble.

To which a young shodan commented "That's part of the new rules...no foot contact allowed!", to which another jokester replied "Hell, no touching allowed at all, it's all KI power".

    You had to be there.

If your Ki was a little stronger that Okuri Ashi Barai would have worked.

Almost as funny was the Canadian National referee giving the clinic with a USA patch on his back, anyone get pictures?

I didn't want to embarrass such a high ranked judoka. Besides, you would have grabbed me during randori and pummeled me like you did that kid from Tokai.
