You assumed that it heals.
I asked for so many opinions and all doctors said the same thing until one day...
I contacted an American doctor that specializes in my case and asked him if I could resume my Judo, I explained that it meant a lot to me because I had a shot at competing on a national level and was lucky enough to get accepted into one of the best teams in the country where I trained daily for a year or so.
He told me it would be very risky to resume involvement in a sport of such an unpredictable nature.
I asked if I could squat and deadlift at the very least he said it may be okay, if I'm very careful and slow with my progression because lifting is of a much more controlled nature. But the risk is still there.
So I did what any reasonable guy would do, I cherry-picked this opinion as the one to follow.
I used to be. -

Well I was talking about success in the art of BJJ itself not necessarily from a self-defence viewpoint.
One of the doctors that told me to stay at home and brisk walk when I want to exercise (LOL) was a woman.
I didn't listen to her.

Lol it won't heal, man.
But I do plan on returning once I become REALLY strong, like back muscles so strong that I have a second spine on my spine.
I love fighting it's the whole reason why I'm lifting in the first place, to maybe go back one day.
Ain't no mountain high enough, etc.
EDIT: I'm sorry for derail too, OP and everyone else, but I just wanted to put my back and my mate's leg as an example of obstacles.Last edited by Mister; 2/20/2013 6:23pm at .
