    USA, 2012: Prometheus

Prometheus is a fun movie with just a bit too much baggage. I can definitely say it was scarier to me than Alien, but it quickly turned away from the horror and delved into action movie territory. I suppose thatís what people want out of science fiction these days, which is a shame. Regardless, the movie was also held back a bit by the constant references to the Alien franchise, as if to try and keep the audience interested by reminding them how cool that previous series was. Despite a lot of really fun performances and some very memorable scenes, Prometheus cannot really ascend much higher than a basic popcorn flick. Fun for a night in, but better sci-fi, horror, and action movies are out there.

You forgot to mention the obvious flawed science in the movie. I know its science fiction, but seriously some of the things they did were just plain stupid. Example being when they took off their helmets when they discovered oxygen on the ship. Lets just expose ourselves to any biological threats. I'd give more examples, but don't want to spoil the movie. Overall it was a fun movie to watch.

Okay, I'm all for realism, but that can be applied to damn near EVERY Sci-Fi movie. That is actually a very minor point there were many that were much worse.

What's the differences in the Blu Ray version and standard DVD? I understand there's an alternate beginning (or ending?)

The most interesting part of this movie was the first 60 seconds.

Everything else sucked, with the exception of the Charlize Theron whose portrayal of a futuristic she-bitch kept turning me on during the entire movie.

I thought the main female character was hot as hell, it was worth it to watch just for her. Decent acting, too.

I liked the movie, and would recommend it. Besides for the hot chick...
