The guy was very very strong, and fast. You should have tried to reach for the mat instead of grabbing his neck, but captain hindsight won't help much now. I would be proud of surviving such a fucking hard drop.
Do you find your BJJ training to conflict a little with wrestling?

I was trying to reach back for an overhook and hook my foot inside his leg, which I normally have a fair rate of success doing, but he beat me to it pretty hard.

I should have either just have bailed to all fours or fought his hands and tried to hip heist away. Or better still not had my weight too far forward and my elbows all over the place and let him take my back in the first place.

I find I'm able to switch modes fairly easily, I don't find myself pulling guard in wrestling or compulsively back-giving in BJJ (or at least not any more than I used to already).

No fighting for me because I quite literally broke my back.

Second best thing, you ask? Squats.

If I can't fight might as well be strong as ****.

I can probably do quite a bit more but I'm taking it real slow at 95kg.

Maybe one day my abs and back will be so strong that I will have a second spine on my spine and I'll be able to do some Judo again.

Of course I'll have moved up a couple of weight classes by then...

    what happened to your back?
I have a fucked up knee now, am fucking limping (i work in a hospital so no one looks at me funny).
I went boxing twice with my knee clicking and hurting, instead of resting, and now i can't walk normal...why do we do this to our self?
Also, if you can squat, it is a great time to learn how to box..

    I have http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spondylolisthesis

Basically a piece of my vertebra broke and now it's just chilling next to the following vertebra with no bone to hold them together.

Boxing is a great idea I'm looking into it but I'm waiting to finish my beginner's program I'm up to 100+kg on the squat so I know it's going to end soon.

The problem is with unpredictable movements and getting dropped and ****, barbell lifting although heavy is very controlled.

    Wait wait wait.

You're so proud of yourself because you got your bitch ass slammed due to not knowing how to really... well... do anything and you're trying to somehow say that's better than being able to do a bunch of **** that you could never even begin fathoming how to do?

Holy ****. You're a shitty cum spittle who showed us all that you're really good at being easily taken from the back and suplexed and you're trying to shame me because... of... what? Holy ****.

This is why NOBODY takes you faggots seriously. This is the exact reason why this site is complete ****. It trickles down from the top because all of your fucking WoW playing nerds with your shitty insecure attitudes sit around all day circle jerking into the pot to see who can further suck more while finding some way to shame me for going out and doing cool ****.

I win some, I lose some. Sometimes I lose pretty fucking badly, no doubt.

When that happens, though, I don't try to convince myself it somehow counts as a win. Because that would be robbing myself of the opportunity to learn from my mistakes. Eh, Sirc?

I've got a couple videos of stick drills in my training log thread. I posted one this weekend of a tire dummy that I made. I can't link them now from my phone, but I may do it later. They are nothing special. Just me beating up a dummy with a stick.
