Yay, internet war- Anybody heard of Anibal Lobo

So Coffefan's wife met this guy the other day and in her own words this was her experience:

· Without further delay here is the name then the story. He introduced himself as Anneble I don't know exactly how to spell it but I think it is pronounce like Anibow. I will call him Annabelle because he whines like a lil... Anywho... He is an older guy like late 60's and was decent enough when I got in to the class. He asked about my background and he seemed cool. I told him my gi was on the way and he said it was fine. Everything changed when we got on the mat. He instantly threw me under the bus and made me his personal target for the whole class. I will list the snide remarks one by one to save time;
1. Once you get your gi you will grow a brain.
2. Sambo... oh lazy jj.
3. when was the last time you did jj? me:last month. Him no no no really? Me: JJ for the last 7 years BJJ 5 years ago. (fool be more specific). 4. he broke up a rolling session (as I was setting up a scissor sweep)to show his student a "no gi" guard hold and preceded to show the "rape choke". I put my arms up through his and grabbed my head to break his hands away. I felt that would be better than armbarring him. He then scrambled to regain his point... I mean grip.
5. I passed his blue belt’s guard and he halted our match. The guy had an arm injury and he said I was being too rough and I needed a gi... what??? I looked at my partner and was concerned for him so I asked if I hurt him. He looked confused and said no.
At that point I felt like I was being watched like a hawk and could not get a decent roll in so I left. Please keep in mind I did not once argue, roll my eyes or correct him. Well I did disagree with him when he asked me about ankle locks. He started off by saying oh Sambo you do a lot of leg stuff right. Ankle locks you grab the gi- Me; no gi is needed. Him: whatever... (walked away).

Personally he is an idiot. I think he is under the impression that Brazil invented jiu jitsu. . Really Mike this guy would probably have a heart attack if you showed up. When I left the gal at the front desk asked me if I enjoyed the class. I told her that the instructor has a lot of knowledge and I don’t care if he verbally abused me because I have dealt with a lot worse (mike, wink, wink) but I feel it’s very unprofessional to attack my discipline of Sambo. She agreed and apologized and said they talked to him about it in the past. I later find out he was fired from the next guy I went to earlier this evening. What a tool. Ok that is my story, let me know if you have any questions.

Seriously, I don't mind a little bit of ribbing between two styles but this is bullshit. Dojo storm?

Anibal lives by his grandfather's advice, "You can count the days of your life or you can make every day count." He adds that Jiu Jitsu teaches a person to be humble, to appreciate the value of other human beings, and to be a better person. He considers it his responsibility to help pass Jiu-Jitsu onto future generations.

He's one of those ultra-humble, friendly BJJ guys I've heard about.

It also says he started studying BJJ in 1977, and then goes on to state that he received his black belt in 2007. Thirty years to get his black belt? I wonder what the story is behind that factoid?

I got dibs on going up there. Going to take me a few months, but I called it first.

I didn't care for the "You'll get a brain when you get gi comment" or calling SAMBO "Lazy Jiu Jitsiu."

He only insulted Omega's art. He insulted both my art and more importantly my wife.

Plus, I'm going up there in a few months anyway.

Reminds me of the two other guys running BJJ clubs here on the Island. Both Brazilian,both think they are God´s gift to the world.They rank higher than my instructor but i am not setting foot there. Between them i think they put off more people from practicing than they kept students. In a word,asswipes.
