Dude, then why are MY wrists all girly and ****. And they hurt with full power punches without wraps but with gloves.
But then again I've never injured them. KIYAAA! WATAAAH!!

Not only has it saved my ass af ew times from when I fell off of two-wheeled transportation, I think it built the foundation for my ability to get inside very quickly.
I don't know what discipline it was, but I saw a video once of a breakfalls kata that was like that. Hardwood floor and everything, it was fucking insane, very impressive.

No, you must not merely "say" it. Inhale maximally...and then you know what to do next.
Al-qiyyah is best practised--without warning--in the midst of armed, nervous crowds.

Here are some of the weirder ones I've heard in Aikido:
Seriously what's Achoo have to do with anything?
Nobody does the kiyah like this man.
Teach me so I can become like him.
Look how effortlessly he beats tens of pesky Judokas.

Okay, playing along now, valueable lessons i walked away with from my time in the chun:
-Putting up with an asshole will cultivate your patience, putting up with an asshole when you can\should leave,is cultivating your wisdom.(as in,you should know better and walk away.)
-keep the fact that you train in anything to yourself as much as possible, and what you trained in, unless circumstances dictate otherwise. saves you headaches and it might even provide some humorous moments, like Vieux Normand said.
-Developing a healthy fear and respect for weapons, and what they can do. I always liked weapons, but i never had the true understanding of how fast and how bad things could happen until Escrima. You will not have a realistic understanding of how weapons work until you train a weapon based art.
-The people ranting the loudest about life lessons and values are likely the least qualified to be lecturing others on it.
-A human beings capacity for self-delusion is nigh inexaustible.

Breakfalls are easily the most valuable thing I learned on a practical level. Learned them my first week of judo when I was a kid and still use them today. As for values, morals, etc., I feel like I learned a lot. But it's hard to sum it up in a forum post. I'd just say that learning stuff that can actually hurt people kind of forced me to think a lot about right and wrong.

Definitely breakfalls is my serious answer.

Where (according to tradition) on the body are the worst places to get kicked or punched, such as in the perineal/pudenal nerve.
