Is BJJ still Good for MMA

MMA is good for MMA. I can't possibly be the only one who thinks the idea of styles are a relic. We have rules sets and competitions.

Styles may be a relic in the world of MMA, but that's still very subjective. There's MMA events with rule sets that make aspects of styles illegal. Take Combat 8 for example, no kicks, elbows, or knees. You can use Boxing, Judo, BJJ, and any other type of grappling (as far as I know); so it is still MMA.

I would disagree MMA is a codified rule set now not just a loose definition based on the make up of its name. Combat 8 is not MMA.

I'd be willing to look at the rules of various MMA events, but I'm almost certain, without doing so, there are discrepancies between them that are not so subtle.

Combat 8 is not MMA.

I don't think we ever came to a conclusion as to what actually constitutes "MMA" in that given thread; so what is MMA to you, if not Combat 8?

Close, one cannot get by in MMA with out a ground fighting toolbox be it wrestling, BJJ, SAMBO, Judo or just MMA ground work.
