    Agreed.

Even at superficial levels, there's so much misrepresentation and over use of Japanese honorary titles.

    O'Sensei does not mean "Professor"
There's no such art called "Aikijitsu"... "Aiki" is a concept of training
Soke does not mean "Inheritor" of a system

And he's claiming at the age of 25 (1988) that he was awarded 5th dan in Goju Ryu

Here's the link to Ronald Duncan - make of this what you will - so many typical red flags I can't be bothered to rake through them all.

    In short.

    Stay the **** away.

I beg to differ on the Aikijitsu statement but that would be an issue for another thread and I would only be arguing semantics.

Was he taking an issue with "AikiJitsu" vs "Aikijutsu"?

I'll just go ahead and leave this here:

"Evolving into such a versatile practitioner of the martial arts, Professor Ronald Duncan became the first non-oriental to be publically recognized in "Official Karate" magazine as a master of martial arts weaponry. For many years to come, Professor Duncan would thrill audiences around the world with spectacular demonstrations that would include vast assortments of traditional and non traditional weapons. Ronald Duncan was also the first to be shown catching live arrows with his bare hands on nationally televised programs such as "Thrill Seekers", and "Wide World of Sports"."

    Yep,

There's no such thing as aikijitsu. Aikijujutsu is merely jujutsu applied using the principles of Ai & Ki.

Like Omega said, I suppose I'm arguing semantics here but, I often see people claiming aikijitsu as a "style" of martial art, The majority of people who use the term aikijujutsu aren't misrepresenting the term to allude it to mean something else.

Aikijujutsu is a generic term (not a style), no different to Karate-do. The key being which style of "aikijujutsu" or "Karate-do" studied. IE Daito Ryu or Goju Ryu.

Semantics ? Perhaps. But I'm delving below the surface of just words.
