Guy Who Pays the Bills and Gets the Death Threats Style: MMA (Retired)
So I parted ways with my GSG-5 tacticaLOL plinker. She was a finicky lass, who only liked dining on expensive ammunition. And after all, the selling point of anything .22 is to shoot lots of cheap ammunition (or shoot it at small creatures).
Now I'm looking for suggestions on a replacement. Here are the current contenders, please let me know if I missed any:
S&W M&P 15-22
And a Comedy Option:
Any suggestions/experience with any of these?

Best .22 I ever owned was an old stock-loaded pump-action. I found it out in a field on a ranch, and my grandfather had it restored for me. Somebody stole it :( I can't remember the make, but I'd know it if I saw it (GIS is failing me today)

Best value, great reputation, eats any load you feed it and boasts more after market options than an AR.
You can basically take a stock 10-22 and turn it into any platform you want. Specialised barrels. Any kind of stock you can imagine. Rails for opitics. Whatever you want.
And they are famously reliable as long as you use quality mags.
After that I'd personally consider it a toss-up between the Sig, the S&W or the Gatling. (Leaning heavily towards the Gatling gun... ...of course...) JMHO.

The Ruger imho. Tied with my old model 70 for the most reliable firearm I've ever known.
I feel like you eyeballin' me, dawg!

10-22 is the best way to go. Great price and there is so much that you van do with it.

The Ruger 10-22 is my choice for most reliable, eats anything you feed it and versatile. You can get the standard version and customize it yourself or just get an Archangel and play with it.
His heart was visible, and the dismal sack that maketh excrement of what is eaten.

So, it looks like you're leaning toward a tactilovely .22 which is cool. I've got a 10-22 that I love.
But just to be different, I'll throw this out there. I hate to let a .22 discussion go by without mentioning the Browning SA-22. I love those fucking things. Such a great rifle. It's built like a brick shithouse and your great grandkids will be able to shoot it.
It's tiny and looks like a youth rifle but has a grownup length of pull, so it feels substantial when you shoulder it. Plus, it's a takedown rifle so you can carry it around in your pocket. Well, almost.
Yeah, it doesn't hold 100 rounds or anything but it's an awesome rifle for plinking or killing rabbits and such. It's made in Japan now, but I've compared the older Belgian and the newer Japanese models side by side and I think the Japanese version is better.
Maybe not the way you want to go, but worth mentioning.

I hear the Ruger 10/22 has best reputation, and you can customize them alot apparently, if ur into that, could be the way to go. Tho there are some pretty sweet lookin .22 carbines out there that need no customizing.
