Great video and good fight. Thanks!
It's a good thing it was striking only, imagine how much arse the TKD fighter would have kicked if he could grapple....

Nice stuff. I'd love to know what they said in the interviews afterwards.

A good example how those flashy high spinning kicks aren't delivering anything but points. Though they do look so cool.

Nice find. I sure wish that TKD fighter could go up and down places like Florida where there's TKD strip mall dojangs ad nauseum, and KICK MASTER KIM (or Lee, or Park) ass.

And the MMA fighter had a nice low kick counter at 3:50ish. I played it back and am trying to figure it out, does he take out the TKD guy's base leg with a short front kick? And erezb?? for high kicks, the spinning hook worked pretty well, and the roundhouse at 5:50 got in, though with out power, as did another at the end of the 2nd round. The MMA fighter again has a good leg counter against kick again @12 min. Most styles don't teach much leg kick counters.

With no grappling and those gloves and special rules, TKD is awesome...lol

Exactly my point, if those kicks missed, than one could have argued that if they connected they would KO the guy. They did connect, and still didn't do much. You could argue that they aren't worth the energy, the risk of counters and take-downs etc.
I used to train with a national team TKD guy. He started MMA and wanted to better his hands so he came to train with us. Anyhow during kickboxing sparring, his best kick was the spinning back kick to the abdomen, i have never seen a guy with such speed, technique and timing with that kick. His other flashy kicks only landed him on his ass repeatedly (when you drive forward), and when they did land, they didn't do much. A punch will land with much more force.
