Having had to leave the new year's eve party I was at due to vomiting children, I was stuck at home watching Above the Law on NYE as it was the only thing on tv. When I fell ill myself later that night I'm still unsure whether it was the same bug or my body having an anaphylactic reaction to such a terrible, terrible movie.

I'd be willing to take a few aikido classes if one were available in my area. Until I do that, I won't have an opinion.

Lol, for clarity the children are mine. I was putting them to bed in a spare room so I could go and enjoy a cool beverage with the adults when they decided to reenact that poltergeist scene.

We here pretty much think any dogmatic approach to a martial art pretty much sucks. Especially when the system is 95% theoretical and conceptual.

^^^^^THIS. If just for the reason that you're likely going to take impact during the process of applying Aiki principals, and most Aikido schools will not prepare you for that. I studied Aikijustsu for 4 1/2 years before switching to Kyokushin, and I honestly think that I'd be much more likely to successfully implement an Aiki principal in a real altercation now than I would've the day I stopped Aikijustsu.
