Russell has a magical glint in his eye..and now I get to picture him in Magic Pants as well my world is complete.
I took one Aikido class. The Sensei was of course a little rotund but his senior black belt dude was pretty robust ..are you only allowed to chub out at Sensei level?
The class was fun, lots of rolling about and then lots of throwing yourself while your partner followed you..or was it the other way round? The Sensei's website was a wonder of metaphysical musings and enlightened perspective complete with lots of circular diagrams.
Even though I do Taiji it was to much for me. -

Now I'm starting to worry about my own club's website.
So much of the text was lazily stolen from elsewhere, that I worry it may also have mystical wisdom.

I have always found watching Aikido technique very graceful. The circle work is elegant. The appeal of using anothers strength and momentum against them certainly can be effective. I think there is something in Aikido like every martial art that you can take away and add to your game.
