We were Roberto Scoca students a Certified Black Belt by Relson Association, all started when Scoca arrived to Costa Rica in 2011 and was invited to roll by other Black Belts, he declined, claiming to have a back and knee injury for almost 10 years, then he was criticized for his unfriendly attitude towards other academies, also he does not appear in Carlson Gracie Sr Black Belt List, nobody in Mexico (FNJJ - Federacion Nacional de Jiu Jitsu Brasileño) knows about him, said to have lived in Brazil until he got the black belt and doesn't speak portuguese, people began to doubt...until Master Relson came to Costa Rica to give a Seminar in 2011, and regained trust again from his current and new to come students then in April 2012 Master Relson came for a second seminar, he shut the mouth of the people who doubted him for the second time, 2 months later after the seminar, Scoca post on facebook a provocation to another teacher from another academy, doubts started to emerge again, many of the students left the academy by this situation, in July 2012 he talk to all of us that he will go to China in September to teach BJJ, letting in charge the Blue Belts, saying that he will come back every 2 months, as his students we trust him and we respect his decision, a month later he call us from China saying that he will close the academy because he never received the expected support and credibility in Costa Rica since he arrived, most of us told him "professor why you don't post a picture of your Black Belt Certificate given by Carlson Gracie Sr on the Academy's Facebook profile? and nobody will doubt about you again", he declined, so...we ask to ourselves, why not? "this guy can prove his legitimacy and he did not want to, there must be something wrong", so we took a picture of his certificate hanging in the wall of his office and we contact Carlson Gracie Jr, and he doest not know him, we contact Mario Delgado Renzo's Gracie Black Belt, and he said that Roberto Scoca reached the (FNJJ - Federacion Nacional de Jiu Jitsu Brasileño) some time in 2010, he asked to be recognize as a Black Belt in Mexico, but couldn't prove a legit certificate, weeks of investigation and searching we found in the internet a Certificate that looks the same as the one that Scoca's have in his office, we compare the two, and we were on shock, "he photoshopped someone else certificate"

In that moment, there were no doubt, same handwriting font of the name "Roberto", same word "Faixa Preta", same date "27 de Novembro", same signatures, is nearly impossible that Carlson Gracie Sr signatures and the person who wrote the name and the date could do the handwriting patterns and made it look exactly the same in 2 different certificates.

Curiosities about Roberto Scoca

He's real name is Carlos Hernandez Ruiz, when people ask him, why his "Real Name" is different from his passport?, he answer that his dad was a drug dealer in Brazil and change his name to not get caught by the authorities in Mexico. True or False?

When students ask him to roll, he complains of back pain, and when people ask him how he get injured, he answer that he was hurt on a dive. True or False?

He said that he lived in Brazil for many years, and doesn't speak portuguese, then he follows with this answer, "i took a lot of private class with Carlson, i barely go out and talk to people, that's why i don't speak the language". True or False?

Roberto Scoca is 34, and he said that his black belt was given by Carlson Gracie Sr in 1999, let's make the math.... he was 21 when he received the Black Belt, in Brazil you have to be 15-16 to be a blue belt, 5 years he's a black a belt and none of Carlson Gracie Sr students of 1999 generation knows about him, not even Carlson Gracie Jr.

We tried to contact Master Relson several times, and no response, we sent emails and no reply, what should we do to expose this guy ?

Doesn't need to be very observant, clever, sharp, analytical, etc, to notice how similar the both certificates are.

"Roberto Scoca teach at our school under Relson Gracie. He got some good teaching skills and is very good with the kids.. but is not a part of our mma and fitness program.. if u are not interested to come to our gym, just dont come and stop hatin' thank you."
