This makes no sense. Universal service doesn't preclude merit based evaluations.

More law enforcement personel die from taking their own lives than in line duty. I am sure this figures into the conversation. NRA has nothing to do with those deaths whatsoever.

Sorry if I was unclear. When you mentioned forced service as being in my view subject to less PTSD? That was what I was responding to; that isn't the issue. Everyone who serves in war scenarios has at least the possibility of PTSD (some cultures think everyone is damaged), it wouldn't be relevant in my view if the individual had been drafted or not.
