    Now, now.

The appropriate type of pressure (say, a well-swung ball-peen hammer) works wonders on pretty much any pressure point. The fact that it would also harm just about any other part of the physique is...um...not germane to the topic at hand.

    So there.

    So there.
That is not the kind of pressure he meant and you know it.

He means is that the concept of trying to apply pressure to POINTS on the body of a RESISTING opponent is a recipe for disaster. I agree.

A resisting opponent is not going to let you poke them or hold still while you find the "sweet spot". While you are poking around on their body they will mash your head into meal.

That is in a completely different realm than actually striking, compressing, or otherwise traumatizing the neck/spine, the possible outcomes of which are obvious (unconsciousness, paralysis, death, etc).

So "pressure points"..no. Manipulating someone's blood pressure, yes, any blood choke, punch, or baseball bat could do that.

There's not much to be added to what Vieux Normand said up there ^^, but I trained this stuff for a while at a karate club about 18 months ago and found it to be a mixed bag. The points are there and when struck in a certain way can produce certain results, but a lot of the pressure point crowd veer off into the "meridian/chi flow" Dillman mythos about which it's easy to be sceptical. FTR I've been (briefly) KO'd twice off it, both times from neck strikes.
Somebody asked me to chime in here. I'm just going to quote you.

No, a plagiarist would've simply done this

This looks like he pinches the carotid artery with his left hand and delivers a short knuckle strike to the back of the neck with his right:Gall bladder 20" in pressure point terminology. When attacking opposite quadrants of the head it is redundant with pressure points.

    I have trained this extensively.

    See what I did there?
