Can't give in to these little bastards. Condolences to the Canadians. Hope they bring them to justice without anymore innocent casualties.

I'm in Ottawa. The confirmed situation at the moment:

    - soldier at the war memorial shot dead
    - gunman then ran to Parliament Hill, and was shot dead by the Sergeant of Arms
    - sounds like there was a second man, but police are exceedingly unwilling to confirm that
    - turns out there was a false alarm at the mall

I don't condone the death penalty, but this happening in the heat of the moment has saved us a trial and probably more than a few lives. My respect to the sergeant, he is a hero.

Absolutely...although interrogation might have been useful. Maybe they will catch the possible second person.

Sergeant at Arms was ready, good job by him for sure.
