Should I name my baby boy Maximus?

HELLO ALL.

It's been awhile. Anyways, all is well in the land of Florida and my first son, Felix is 6 years old and just wrecking people in Brazilian Ju Jitsu. A baby brother now looms on the horizon, who is sure to turn out EVEN MORE bad ass (if such a thing is possible), from being raised with an older brother who could single leg and armbar a full size midget in 15 seconds flat.

I want a strong, smart name for our new baby boy.

I have a friend who was a national greco roman wrestling champion and olympic alternate, who named his son Maximus a year ago and now is encouraging me to do the same (since it was always one of my favorites), so that we have two little Maximus' going at it on the mats.

Ideas so far:

Maximus
Avery (too girly?)
Edward (we called him Eddy the Embryo in the beginning)
Liam (Too popular?)
Duncan (she won't go for it)

and any first name followed by "skywalker" as a middle name. (she won't allow this also)

Max is a cool name.

Also happens to be the name of the coolest killer robot in movie history.

Congrats on the forthcoming son.

I tried, unsuccessfully, to get the wife to agree to Grendel. I'm considering working it in gradually as a nickname, but for the time being, I'll grant its use to you.

I wanted to name either of my sons: Maximus Decimus Maridius from Galiator. My wife wasn't going for it! Still like it though!

Oh dear lord, this is what happens when sci-fi nerds start becoming parents. At least he could go by Max.

How about Perseus? Or Euclid? I've never meet a Euclid before.

Diogenes? You could shorten it to Gene, or better yet, Dio!

Speaking of nerds, I named one of my computers Euclid.

I was a judge a couple of years ago for Children's sparring and, incredibly, one child was called Maximus (it must have been Gladiator that prompted it). He was great, swinging punches and receiving punches with a smile on his face.

Victor? Not used much these days although I recall a kid a year or two older than me who was called Victor.

Liam . Irish.
Duncan. Scottish.
Edward. English, then again, could also be Eamonn, which is Irish for Edmund.

This could get interesting. :-)
